PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello!
It has been a fantastic summer and I hope everyone has made the most of it.
We started things off with another great BBQ on the grounds of the Station in July. It was
well attended and children and adults enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you to the
events committee for organizing another splendid event. We look forward to the
Progressive Dinner on October 24th.

What a winter it has been! We hope to have terrific weather for our Annual Stampede Bar-B-Que on July 2 at the Station. There will be lots of activities and entertainment for the kids and the kids at heart! If you
are not already a member, the Bar-B-Que is a great reason to join and meet your neighbours.

This summer has been a busy one! When the flood hit in late June, the entire City was hard at work helping those affected. The Mount Royal community as a whole extended a helping hand however we could. Many of our neighbours affected by the flood, joined us at our annual Stampede Barbecue. It was a beautiful evening, filled with bouncy castles, a petting zoo, great food from Janice Beaton and lots of debriefing over the events that had so recently transpired. Thank you to everyone involved in making the barbecue possible.

Welcome to another exciting year of Mount Royal events and community building! This past Annual General Meeting resulted in a shift of volunteers within the board, a few newcomers and a few people stepping down. A heartfelt thank you to Laura Brown, who has spent many long hours over the past 3 years as the Treasurer for the MRCA. In total, Laura has been volunteering in our community for 16 years. Many thanks for the tremendous contribution, enthusiasm and well run meetings by 2010-2012 President, Debra Law. And finally, many thanks to Jane Keyser for her 'Past President' guidance over the past couple of years. You will all be missed.
