Inner City
Transportation Study
The main purpose of the Inner City Transportation Study (ICTS) is to
review the role of each of the "main" roads servicing the inner city and
downtown and to identify problem areas. The study will also develop transit priority
measures to enhance Calgary Transit service as we anticipate service will increase by up
to 40 per cent over the next 30 years.
In June 1996 City Council approved the Terms of Reference for the
ICTS. As the results of the study will directly affect inner city residents and
businesses, a team of 25 stakeholders representing inner city and downtown businesses,
communities and institutions were invited to participate with The City of Calgary in the
study process.
